HAVENS PARENTS CLUB (HPC)

It was great seeing such a happy crowd at at our 6th annual Family FunFest.  We had an amazing turn-out. More families than ever! A big thanks to our many table hosts who gave their time to strengthen community relationships with education and encouraging participation. A loud shout out to our very own, awesome!, 5th graders (Colin Amen, Justin Amen, Cole Carnazzo & Will Hinman) who raised over $150 for HPC with their Popsicle Donation Table and to a wonderful group of middle schoolers (including two Havens alumni, Elena Stevens & Melina Markowitz, and Henley Lorin) who volunteered tirelessly to decorate every smiling face in line.

And the fun continues …

Starting with FUN FRIDAY SPIRIT DAY for the kids! Next week all students are encouraged to show their Havens spirit by wearing ANY Havens merchandise (new & “vintage”) or ANY purple clothing to school. This will be launched as a weekly Fun Friday to help promote team spirit and student comradery. As we move through the months we will reward classes who achieve full Fun Friday participation. So, order some new Havens merchandise (https://squareup.com/store/havens), ask about our heavily discounted “vintage” line (havensmerchsales@gmail.com), or pull out last year’s favorite! Order today and our Merchandise Team will have your items ready for pick-up at tomorrow’s B2SN. Look out for them in the breezeway, where (of course ;)) they will have merchandise for sale!

Our HPC Member Meetings are the best way to start conversations that make a difference! At our last meeting, we were asked about student and parent emotional support. Through this discussion, we realized the missed opportunity to share information with you about our regular Parent & Principal Coffees and our invaluable, expanding Restorative Justice Circles work. We have added information, dates and action items for these areas to our website (under Parent Support). These are wonderful opportunities for discovery and support for both students and parents. I encourage you to participate in these experiences whenever possible.

Have a great holiday weekend :)
