I hope everyone had a wonderful first day back to school! We are loving having the predictability of a schedule again and hearing the cheerful voices of teachers and students throughout the day in our home.

A heartfelt thank you to our teachers, paraprofessionals, and administrators who have spent countless hours training and preparing to welcome our students back to their digital classrooms. There is a steep learning curve for all of us but I am so incredibly grateful to our educators for giving it their all (and then some) and showing up for our students.

First HPC Meeting: I hope you will join us for our first virtual Havens Parents Club meeting of the 2020-21 school year. HPC meetings are a wonderful opportunity to participate in conversations that make a difference. It is this Friday, August 21st, at 9am. You can find the link on the Havens school calendar

In addition to board updates, we will have a moderated town hall where Principal Dolid and School Board Member Andrea Swenson will answer parent questions. If you have questions you would like them to answer during the town hall, please use this survey link to submit them.

HPC Membership, Tech Fund & Educator Appreciation Fund: A huge thank you to everyone who has joined HPC and contributed to the teacher & staff appreciation fund! We are aiming for all Havens families to join & contribute! If you haven’t had a chance yet, please go to the Piedmont Store to join HPC, contribute to the teacher & staff appreciation fund, and to give to the tech fund

Room Parents: Please sign up here by Sunday, August 23rd if you are interested in being a room parent this year. Next week we will be randomly selecting a room parent for each class from all interested parents.

Thank you: It takes a village to get our kids back to school, especially in the middle of a global pandemic. A heartfelt thank you to the HPC volunteers who showed up to help put together 450+ school supply kits for our students last Thursday and to the Havens Dads Club for replying to the last minute appeal and rallying volunteers to help get Chromebooks set up and distributed over the weekend.
